About

Engineered Discipline + Creative Range

Hello — I'm Layne, a creative technologist building Kawa Works, a studio focused on original IP, interactive digital experiences, and brand ecosystems designed to evolve into products, content, and physical goods.

I originally set out to pursue art and creative work, but built my career on the engineering side of the industry — developing the systems behind mobile apps, enterprise platforms, automation pipelines, and operational tooling. Over the last decade I've worked across startups and product teams building both the internal infrastructure and experiences that drive engagement and growth.

Kawa Works brings those two worlds together: creative direction and technical execution. From character-driven IP to interactive digital environments, the goal is the same — breathe life into evolutionary ideas.

How I work

Structured Foundations

Every creative project rests on engineered foundations. Intentional upfront thinking for your brand use case.

Structure creates freedom.

Creative Range

Creative direction paired with technical execution — shaping visual identity, interactive environments, and product systems as a cohesive whole.

Art direction grounded in reality.

Intentional Craft

We care about how things are built, how they perform, and how they feel.

Thoughtful upfront design prevents unnecessary complexity later. Playful on the surface. Deliberate underneath.

Long Arc Thinking

We approach projects with product mindset.

Whether it's original IP or a collaborative build, the goal is long-term viability — not short-term noise. Built to launch, but designed to grow.

If this resonates — we'd love to hear what you're building.
